Pet Portraits at Blue Duck Brewery | Kingston NY
One of my favorite parts of being a pet photographer is meeting so many incredible animals and the people who love them. Recently, I had the opportunity to set up a pet portrait pop-up at Blue Duck Brewery in Kingston, New York, where local pet owners could stop by for a quick professional portrait of their furry companions.
Set Up
For the event, I created a simple studio setup with a clean backdrop and used the natural lighting of the day. Families could choose a portrait of just their pet or hop in for a few photos together. I even bring along some treat options to encourage the animals to stay, as I know having options is good with pet allergies being so wide depending on ingredients. I was also stationed next to Lucas Pet Supply which also had some great treat options!

Each vendor did an amazing job braving the heat, as well as all the amazing contestants for the dog show itself. This was Blue Duck Brewery's first Dog Show and they plan to make it an annual event. I highly recommend checking them out on a normal day for food and drink, but also keep an eye out for future events. They're a wonderful team and very kind with a love for animals too!
Every pet has their own personality, and that's what I love capturing most. Whether it was an energetic puppy, or a calm senior dog, no matter big or small.

"I highly recommend Daniel for anyone looking for a photographer in the Hudson Valley! We hired Daniel for an outdoor photoshoot of our dog JoJo. Our main requests were: 1) a close up portrait of JoJo that we can blow up to hang in our home, and 2) candid photos of JoJo and a few with us in them. I told Daniel that I wanted the portrait to be artistic and that, when you look into JoJo’s eyes in the photo, it feels like you’re seeing into her soul — not at all a simple request. I cannot overstate how happy I am with the photos Daniel delivered. We had approx. 1 hour long photoshoot, and within about a week, Daniel sent us about 50 absolutely beautiful, artistic, detailed photos that evoke emotions.
